Use the AI Content Score in Writing Assistant as your data-driven guide to diagnose and improve any existing page on your site. This lesson shows you how to turn underperforming content into a high-quality, optimized asset.

Start your optimization project in Writing Assistant ↗️ by pasting in the URL of an existing page and its target keyword(s).
Complete the setup (Competitors, Content Profile, etc.) and customize the Insight Cards to build your ideal optimization brief.
Once the content loads, review your AI Content Score.
Click into the score breakdown or the Insight Cards to diagnose weaknesses (e.g., low Topical Coverage or Intent Alignment).

Take action to improve the score by:
Manually rewriting sections in the editor.
Using AI revision tools like Expand Selection to address missing topics.
Using the "Optimize with AI" feature to revise the entire draft based on your selected goals.
Continue refining until the AI Content Score is in the green.
